PRESENTER PROFILE :
JAMES BARCLAY |
James Barclay has been an ALBUM ZONE regular since it's inception in 1997, and has worked with many of his A.Z. colleagues on various Radio Stations through the years, including Radio Kick-In-The-Head, Radio Caroline, and Loughborough Campus Radio. Eyebrows were raised (though, thankfully, nothing else) when rumours started to circulate about his alleged Marriage to 70's 'Diva' Noosha Fox, who, it was said, bore him a son, 'Smock', named after she gave birth to him during a Folk Festival in the Summer of 1995, whilst Fairport Convention were wailing on Stage. |
It should be noted that none of this has ever been proven. His 'unseen and mysterious' occasional studio guests (on both his own and others Programmes) include 'John', responsible for Global Gig Guides, and a rather terse character known as 'The Brigadier'. Less often, (thankfully) a character called 'Tom' rears his ugly head, usually when our own Mr. Barclay has had too much to drink. To this day, none of these characters have ever been seen.
James Barclays Programmes are an eclectic mix, although he does occasionally throw in some Reggae or some downright smock-infested Folk, just to keep people on their toes (or their head down the toilet). Rumours that James deeply upset the rest of the Album Zone Crew by turning up at Radio 6, France in early 1998 with a Beard have yet to be confirmed.
James lives close to the Derbyshire countryside, possibly with an ex-70s Popstar Wife, possibly not. He possibly has a son called Smock, but frankly we cannot confirm or deny that either. Frankly, we don't care. His obsessions include sticking things through peoples Letterboxes, drinking heavily, falling over, Joan Baez, and Stew.
